Week 14a- Print Ready Design-Layout Te

font (serif & sans-serif), 

  1. In typography, a sans-serifsans serif, gothic, san serif or simply sans typeface is one that does not have the small projecting features called "serifs" at the end of strokes. The term comes from the French wordsans, meaning "without". 
  2. margin, the edge or border of something.

  3. guide (illustrator guides),Rulers help you accurately place and measure objects in the illustration window or in an artboard. The point where 0 appears on each ruler is called the ruler origin.

  5. Bleed is a printing term that refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of the sheet before trimming. In other words, the bleed is the area to be trimmed off.

  7. CMYK, The CMYK color model (process colorfour color) is a subtractive color model, used incolor printing, and is also used to describe the printing process itself. 

  8.                Image resolution is the detail an image holds. The term applies to raster digital images, film images, and other types of images. Higher resolution means more image detail.

  10. copy proof,A proof is a typeset version of copy or a manuscript page. They often contain typos introduced through human error. Traditionally, a proofreader looks at an increment of text on the copy and then compares it to the corresponding typeset increment, and then marks any errors

  12. registration mark,The registered trademark symbol, designated by ® (the circled capital letter R), is a symbol that provides notice that the preceding word or symbol is a trademark or service mark that has been registered with a national trademark office.[

  13. Layout border,A border layout lays out a container, arranging and resizing its components to fit in five regions: north, south, east, west, and center.
